At Maddox Concrete Company, Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware, we are pleased to offer you solid concrete services and a wealth of information. Here are a few of our most recently asked questions. 

Concrete varies in its curing time depending on temperature. At 70 degrees, 3,000 PSI concrete will be hard after 24 hours, but the surface will still be soft enough to be scuffed or marked if you are not careful. The concrete will be at least 75% of its specified strength in 7 days. It will be full strength in 28 days. 

Below 40 degrees, the chemical reaction, known as setting or curing, does not take place. The solution is to start with heated materials, use a set accelerator, and to protect the concrete after it is placed with insulated concrete blankets. Never pour concrete on frozen ground. 

Our trucks are very versatile and can make many different mixes by simply changing the dial settings at the jobsite. Please note any special requests for mix designs or additives at the time of order.
